"RATS" & Dolphins Inhabit
Palm Beach International Film Festival
Among the standout films in this year's festival: Rats, an original look at Washington D.C.'s rodent
overpopulation and trash problems mixed with philosophical viewpoints from the homeless who share the dumpsters
with them. James M. Felter's savvy documentary starts out being about the overpopulation of rodents in Washington, D.C.,
but gradually includes other topics such as homelessness, litter, urban neglect and spiritual malaise, while government
indifference gets a look too. Haunting social commentary from two homeless guys who share the dumpster space with the
vermin are insightful, heartbreaking and by the film's end, prescient. Don't miss this one.
