Company
Background
RIDEN (pronounced RYE DEN) is owned and
operated by Richard Dennison. After working for nine years as a corporate
executive in SE Asia Dennison returned to America in 1975 and formed RIDEN.
With an ongoing love and affection for films as the cornerstone of the business
RIDEN became a franchisee for one of the first companies that sold pay-per-view
movies to domestic hotels. In the early 80's that hotel business evolved into licensing TV programming to niche television stations who acquired their
programming under contract from independent media brokers. In the mid 90s,
negatively impacted by satellites, Dennison went into semi-retirement. In
1999 Dennison decided he wanted to keep his hand in the business he loved and reinvented RIDEN
as an international distributor actively
representing select programming from a few talented filmmakers.
